In 1932, as Colombo emerged as the commercial capital of Sri Lanka, Careems established a showroom at No. 10, Victoria Arcade, in the heart of the Fort district.

Positioned close to the bustling harbor, this location became a gateway for international visitors. From this era, an original Careems business card and a letterhead bearing a handwritten personal note from the late Chairman, Mr. Jeffry Careem, have been carefully preserved.

These artifacts stand as rare, tangible reminders of the firm’s early legacy.

Clusters of luminous diamonds form a delicate floral silhouette, leading to a lush green dangling emerald drop below. Crafted in white gold by Careems, this pendant exemplifies virtuous craftsmanship and elegance.

Alternating duos of vivid red rubies and diamond-set links form a graceful rhythm of colour and light, in this white gold bracelet meticulously handcrafted by the artisans at Careems.

The annual Careems Jewellers bridge tournament was held recently at the Women’s International Club with around 40 enthusiastic participants. Our director Fainza Careem handed over the trophy and gift pendants to the winning players. Many congratulations to Sharon Rajendran and Suki Deverajan ✨
