The 8th ELEVATE Film Screening was successfully held at the University of Sri Jayawardenapura, with the attendance of the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Senior Professor Sirantha Heenkenda, attending as the Chief Guest and attended by a distinguished audience, including the dignitaries from the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice, faculty representatives and the students.

This event continued the project's mission of using cinema as a tool for advocacy in SRHR and CGBV featuring 12 compelling short films created by young female filmmakers.

The first panel, comprising filmmakers, explored the themes of, menstrual issues, female empowerment on student ragging, LGBTIQ rights, and discussed broadly on the powerful messages behind the films, emphasizing their role in challenging societal norms and sparking meaningful conversations. The second panel featured academic experts who delved into the broader implications of the above themes specially focussing to university communities.
