First ship to carry Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea since Russia invaded Ukraine on 24th February - left the Port of Odesa for Lebanon on 01st August under safe passage.
Sailing was an outcome of a ‘grain and fertiliser export agreement’ brokered by Turkey and the United Nations, between Russia and Ukraine last month. Sierra Leone-flagged ship Razoni is said to be carrying 26,527 tonnes of Ukrainian corn.
US Secretary of State, Anthony Blinken during his visit to Bangkok 10th July said “We’re seeing the impact of this Russian aggression playing out everywhere. It may have contributed to the situation in Sri Lanka; we’re concerned about the implications around the world” Further claimed that “growing food insecurity” around the world “has been significantly exacerbated by the Russian aggression against Ukraine.”
President Vladimir Putin on 31st July, signed a new naval doctrine which casts the United States as Russia's main rival and sets out Russia's global maritime ambitions for crucial areas such as the Arctic and the Black Sea. According to the doctrine, the main threat to Russia is - "the strategic policy of the USA to dominate the world's oceans" and the movement of the NATO military alliance closer towards Russia's borders.
Tensions among US and Asian superpowers; Russia and China, are on the rise as - US tries to shift blame on Russia & China for the impending global economic crisis, during their recent vists to Asian countries.

US Senate passed the new $280 billion “Chips and Science Act” with broad bipartisan support, 64 to 33 on Wednesday.
Yesterday 28th July, House passed this legislation with strong bipartisan support, 243-187 vote - whilst House GOP leaders push to whip against the bill.
This legislation aims to address a semiconductor shortage and to make US less reliant on other countries such as China for manufacturing. IMF predicts that US GDP will drop to 1% in 2023. How much impact will this act have on US economy amidst inflation and tensions with Russia, China and Saudi Arabia?
