IALA Maritime Buoyage System 🌊🚢*

The International Association of Lighthouse Authorities (IALA) developed the *Maritime Buoyage System* to ensure safe navigation by dividing the world into two regions: *Region A* & *Region B* for lateral marks.

🌍 *Buoyage Regions:*

🔴 *Region A* (Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia)
🟢 *Port (Left) = Red*
🔴 *Starboard (Right) = Green*

🟢 *Region B* (Americas, Japan, Korea, Philippines)
🟢 *Port (Left) = Green*
🔴 *Starboard (Right) = Red*

⛵ *Key Buoy Types:*

🔶 *Cardinal Marks* – Indicate safe water direction based on compass points
⚫ *Isolated Danger Marks* – Show hazards like rocks
⚪ *Safe Water Marks* – Indicate open, navigable water
⚫🔴 *Special Marks* – Indicate specific zones (e.g., anchorage, military)
