UTI Colombo

We are a leading non-state BA degree awarding institute approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) in Colombo with over 40 years of experience.
UTI was established in 1980 by Late Dr. M.A.M.A Wahid M.A, BA (Hons) to fulfill his vision of bringing Bachelor Degrees to the underprivileged students of Sri Lanka, especially in Colombo. UTI was the first Institute to offer GAQ & External B.A Degrees in Colombo.
In 1990 we started Spoken English class and introduced late Mr. B.M Bishrul Hafi (B.A). Thousands of students studied Spoken English under him. He was the leading Spoken English tutor in Sri Lanka until his demise.
80% of our graduate students got teaching post from the batch of 2006.
After the change of new syllabus in 2015, we now do BA100, BA200 & BA300 subjects.
We started doing A/L classes in 2012 in Thihariya. In 2014, all 14 students from our A/L class got accepted into the University of Jaffna.
We are starting A/L classes in Colombo from 2021.
After the imposed lockdown due to the global pandemic of COVID-19, all our classes are being held online through Zoom.
