Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the presidential candidate from the National People’s Power (NPP), has been declared the 9th Executive President of Sri Lanka. The official announcement was made by the Election Commission on Sunday, September 22, following the conclusion of the 2024 Presidential Election.

Mr. Dissanayake, secured 42.31% of the vote in the election held on Saturday, September 21. He outpaced his key rivals, with opposition leader Sajith Premadasa finishing second, and former President Ranil Wickremesinghe trailing in third place.
