Sysco Corporation has been awarded a 2026 Newsweek AI Impact Award for an innovative enterprise-wide artificial intelligence (AI) application that enhances supply chain processes, drives sales productivity, and elevates the customer e-commerce experience.

Sysco is being recognised in the AI Brand and Retail – Best Outcomes category for creating and scaling the Sysco Agentic Ecosystem (SAGE), a company-wide AI capability designed to help move AI from experimentation into everyday business operations across sales, supply chain, customer experience, and back-office functions.

Bridging Sri Lanka’s Internship Gap Through Innovation

SLASSCOM, together with BeyondOne, officially launched the Internship Platform on 15th May a national initiative designed to address the growing internship challenge faced by undergraduates in Sri Lanka’s IT and BPM sectors.

The platform creates a scalable virtual internship ecosystem, connecting students with structured, industry-aligned learning opportunities while fostering stronger collaboration between academia and industry.
The launch brought together representatives from SLASSCOM, BeyondOne, and pilot-phase companies, marking an important step towards enhancing graduate employability and expanding access to quality internship opportunities.

This initiative is expected to play a vital role in strengthening Sri Lanka’s digital talent pipeline and supporting the long-term growth of the nation’s IT and BPM industry.
