Tuesday 21st June:
MY THOUGHTS FOR TODAY...
When we pray, we need to pray God's Word in our prayers. WHY?
'For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places'.
Ephesians 6:12 NLT
We have rulers and authorities assigned by the evil one over our families, homes, our children and grandchildren. It's in the heavenly realms.
Then WHY we need to pray against them?
Those rulers and authorities use 'demons' to attack US. We keep open doors in our lives and they can attack US. (Not possess per say). Only demons are in the earthly realm on a day to day basis who are assigned to attack our lives. Yes, we have the efficacy of The Precious Blood of Jesus Christ available 24 x 7. WORD IS our Weapon. The sword which we need to use. (Speaking to 'the mountain').
We have many verses we can use to pray against US (our family, children and grandchildren etc)
Example:
Quote:
'But in that coming day no weapon turned against _________ (use each of your immediate Fly members including yourself) will succeed. __________ (use each of your immediate Fly members including yourself) will silence every voice raised up to accuse US _________ (use each of your immediate Fly members including yourself) . These benefits are enjoyed by the servants of the Lord*; their vindication will come from Me (GOD ALMIGHTY). I, the Lord, have spoken!
Isaiah 54:17 NLT
DO YOU BELIEVE THIS?
Similar way, pray using God's Word.
*Believing The FINISHED WORK ON THE CROSS OF CALVARY BY JESUS CHRIST OUR SAVIOUR... IS RIGHTEOUSNESS. BELIEVE AND ACCEPTING IT. THAT'S RIGHTEOUSNESS. (We are servants of the Lord, if we truly believe on the FINISHED WORK of Jesus Christ.
More to say...
Tip:
Read the Epistles (each, in one sitting). They are Letters. Read as if you are reading A Letter. Amazing how God THE Holy Spirit will bring what you read ALIVE to you. IT'S THE LIVING WORD. Just not printed matter or Text on your Device.
Leave this with you for today!
Be Blessed 🙌

GOOD NEWS THIS GOOD FRIDAY...
John. 19:28-30
Reading from Verse 28 After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst!” 29 Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth. 30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.” John. 19:28-30.
Let us reflect on Jesus’ words, “It is finished.” We’ll see that when Jesus said “It is finished,” His ‘finishing’ was just the ‘beginning’ for you and Me.
Backdrop…
The Bible tells us, “Lamb slain from the foundations of the world” Rev. 13:8.
Gal. 4:4 says, “When the time had fully come, God sent forth His Son….”
A Roman centurion said: “Truly this was the Son of God!” (Matt 27:54)
2 Corinthians 5:21 "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him".
John 19:28 "After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, "I thirst!" 29 Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth".
Mark informs us that "when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" (Mark 15:30)
Luke says that after Jesus cried "it is finished" Jesus then said "Father, 'into Your hands I commit My spirit.' " Having said this, He breathed His last. (Luke 23:46)
Matthew goes on to tell us that as Jesus took His last breath there was a great earthquake "and the rocks were split, and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised"
We are also told that "the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom". This supernatural act signifies the fact that God accepted Jesus' sacrifice and because of this we now have access to God.
John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life".

In the fullness of time… His Birth, then His life and ministry were revealed.
At last Jesus hung on a Cross. His life ebbed away. He saw His end was near and His work for eternity was complete, so he cried, “It is finished!”
His body had been beaten for our sicknesses. His life had been lived without sin. The Father had laid the sins of the world on Him on the cross. He was surrendering to the death penalty, dying for our sins. His work was finished.
At last He could cry – concerning man’s redemption – “It is finished!” This phrase is only one word in Greek, “tetelestai.” This word was often stamped on ancient tax documents and its meaning was “Paid in full!” He had finished the work of redemption.
“And having disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross” Col. 2:15.
Jesus has not only redeemed us, He’s disarmed the principalities and powers! 1 Cor. 2:8 says, “Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” Hallelujah!
THE GOOD NEWS THIS GOOD FRIDAY!
WHEN THE WORK OF JESUS WAS FINISHED, IT WAS ONLY THE BEGINNING FOR YOU and ME! His finishing was our beginning!
1. 2 Cor. 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
A NEW FAMILY
Vs3 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, Vs4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, Vs5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, Vs6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. Vs7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace…” Eph. 1:3-7.
This new beginning will give us an acute sense of the presence of God. God put His Spirit in us crying, “Abba, Father!”
Rom. 8:15-16, “For you did not receive the spirit of bo***ge again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.”
Once you know you’re a new creature, you’ve been adopted into God’s family, and you know that God’s Spirit is living in you – then you become aware that God has a larger purpose for your life.
You are here to “seek and to save that which is lost” just like Jesus! When Jesus said, “It is finished,” that was just the beginning for you – of a new purpose and meaning to life.
NEW BEGINNING WITH A PURPOSE, A CALL AND A PLAN
God is giving you a new beginning today. A new start, a new family, a new presence/power, and a new role in God’s plan.
If you have been born again, may we never forget the price that was paid on the Cross where Jesus died.
Freely Given, freely give. God bless you.🙏🏼

Hi
Our text is James 5: verse 17.
James refers directly to a prayer of Elijah the prophet in the Old Testament, so let’s read about the prayer that James is directly referencing.
READ 1 Kings 18:41-45
“And Elijah said to Ahab, "Go, eat and drink, for there is the sound of a heavy rain." 42 So Ahab went off to eat and drink, but Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel, bent down to the ground and put his face between his knees. 43 "Go and look toward the sea," he told his servant. And he went up and looked. "There is nothing there," he said. Seven times Elijah said, "Go back." 44 The seventh time the servant reported, "A cloud as small as a man's hand is rising from the sea." So, Elijah said, "Go and tell Ahab, 'Hitch up your chariot and go down before the rain stops you.'" 45 Meanwhile, the sky grew black with clouds, the wind rose, a heavy rain came on and Ahab rode off to Jezreel.”
Prayer is communicating with the CREATOR OF THIS GREAT UNIVERSE.
Ponder...
And yet, filled with billions of galaxies, the universe is almost totally empty. The distances from one galaxy to another are beyond our imagination.
And the Creator of this universe is God, who with a Word spoke it all into being, who is present everywhere in this universe and beyond, and who holds it all together with His mighty power.
We have no idea of the awesome power of God.
It's incomprehensible. What's even more amazing is that He wants to use that power to help US, to answer OUR prayers. Keep picturing, the earth isn't anywhere near as big as the sun. You could fit one million earths inside the sun.
James 5: 13, says….
Prayer is personal. If we are in trouble we pray. If we have needs, we pray.
James gives us a real-life example when he mentions the prayers of Elijah.
We are told that the Prophet Elijah told King Ahab to go and celebrate because he heard the sounds of “rushing rain.” It had been dry 100% for 3 years! So, Ahab went up to eat and to drink and to celebrate the end of the drought.
Elijah went up to the top of Mount Carmel and bowed himself down on the ground and put his head between his knees. We are not told why he prayed that way, but he did. Humility or Intensity? (Just a thought?)
He prays and tells his servant to look. Nothing says the servant. Elijah prays. Nothing says the servant. Elijah prays. Nothing was the reply. On the seventh time, when the servant checked he saw a small cloud in the sky that would eventually grow into severe rain.
This is the Old Testament story, James is referencing in chapter 5 about Elijah. James tells us that Elijah is just like us (verse 17), but this man had a powerful, faithful, righteous, and effective prayer life.
Elijah did not give up praying, but was persistent in prayer. He repeated his prayers and had his servant check 7 x times. God could have made it rain all on His own, but earlier in 1 Kings, we see that God gives Elijah the power to stop the rain and to make it rain again. God chose to use Elijah.
Luke 18:1 says we should “always pray and not give up” and Ephesians 6:18 says, “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests". Persistent in prayer!
Elijah prayed specifically. Elijah prayed for rain. Elijah received the answer to his prayer which was… rain and lots of rain. There is something about specific prayers that are powerful. Praying for A specific healing condition; for A specific job; for A specific need; We can and should be specific in our prayers to God because our God can work specific miracles!
In closing, we are called to pray like Elijah.
Who was or who is Elijah?
A few quotes I picked up…
Grandest Old Testament Character;
Mightiest of all prophets;
Emotional as ourselves are.
"a mere man, subject to the same weaknesses and infirmities as other men."
Most Eminent of prophets.

Yet he is described as...
"a man with a nature like ours" – James 5:17
"of the same constitution, a human being - He appears to have suffered from discouragement and depression.
God will answer our prayers. He loves us. He is compassionate. He is our Heavenly Father in and through Jesus Christ our Saviour.
May God open the eyes of our hearts…Ephesians 1: 17 to 21. To know His Power.
Freely Given, freely give. God bless you.
