One thing about me, I call it exactly as I see it.
The United Workers Party got this one wrong.
Given the seriousness of the allegations currently surrounding Richard Frederick, this was a moment that called for political strategy, symbolism, and emotional intelligence.
Imagine if the letter to the Prime Minister’s Office had been delivered by mothers, sisters, grandmothers, aunts, and other women. Doesn’t the UWP have a Women’s Arm? That image alone would have sent a far more powerful message and resonated with many more people.
Instead, the optics fell flat.
Politics isn’t just about having the right message, it’s also about understanding who should deliver it and how it should be delivered. Those details matter because perception matters.
Sometimes, winning the argument isn’t enough. You also have to win the moment.
The message may have been right, but the messengers were wrong.
If you understand political strategy, you’ll understand exactly what I mean.

Ahhh… is this why Saint Lucia is fighting tooth and nail to keep its Citizenship by Investment Programme?
Now our largest tourism market has issued a Level 2 Travel Advisory, urging U.S. citizens to exercise increased caution when travelling to Saint Lucia because of crime. This is not the kind of international attention our country needs. (travel.state.gov)
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre and Deputy Prime Minister Ernest Hilaire, Saint Lucia continues to face one international challenge after another.
First, concerns surrounding the Citizenship by Investment Programme. Now, heightened concerns about crime affecting our tourism image.
Tourism is the backbone of our economy. When our largest visitor market raises concerns about safety, every hotel worker, taxi driver, tour operator, restaurant owner, vendor, and small business owner has reason to be concerned.
Leadership is about anticipating problems, protecting your country’s reputation, and inspiring confidence at home and abroad.
In my opinion, Saint Lucia deserves leaders with vision, decisive action, and a clear plan, not leaders who simply react after the damage has already been done.
The people of Saint Lucia are the ones who pay the price. 🇱🇨
POV: A Message to the Lovers of Victim Blaming
I never imagined I’d witness a day when so many women would become the loudest voices against another woman simply because she had the courage to speak.
That breaks my heart.
No one is asking you to abandon the principle of innocent until proven guilty. But why is compassion so often reserved for the accused, while cruelty is directed at the person making the allegation?
Every time we mock, shame, or tear down someone who comes forward, we send a chilling message to every silent victim:
“Stay quiet… because if you speak, we’ll destroy you too.”
Justice demands a fair investigation. Humanity demands empathy.
We can support due process without embracing victim blaming.
The kind of society we build is reflected in how we treat the most vulnerable. Today, I am deeply saddened by what I see.
To every victim watching in silence: your voice matters, and you deserve to be heard.
Let’s stop making courage a punishment.
