Proportional Integral Derivative controller or PID
In control systems, PID controller is used to combine the advantage of the PI and PD controllers. It is used to reduce steady state error (SSE) to 0 and improve the transient response. It is accomplished by adding a compensator whose transfer function is Gc(s). Here is a MATLAB application that finds the root locus of the original transfer function and the the system characteristics with and without the compensator.
