SYLLABUS
The Syllabus sets out the specific knowledge and skills that make up this module, as informed by input from subject matter experts from a wide range of computer societies and organizations.

On completion of this module the candidate will be able to:
• Work with documents and save them in different file formats.
• Choose built-in options, such as the Help function, to enhance productivity.
• Create and edit small-sized word processing documents that will be ready to share and distribute.
• Apply different formats to documents to enhance them before distribution; recognize good practice in choosing the appropriate formatting options.
• Insert tables, images, and drawn objects into documents.
• Prepare documents for mail merge operations.
• Adjust document page settings.
• Check and correct spelling before finally printing documents.

BASE MODULES:
Base modules certify skills that are considered essential skills - together they form the set of skills and knowledge that are crucial for all, which is why they are considered essential. The four Base modules are:
Computer Essentials - skills and concepts relating to the use of devices, file creation and management, networks and data security.
Online Essentials - skills and concepts relating to web browsing, effective information search, online communication and e-mail.
Word Processing – skills to accomplish everyday tasks associated with creating, formatting and finishing word processing documents, such as letters, CVs, and other documents.
Spreadsheets – skills to perform tasks associated with developing, formatting, modifying and using a spreadsheet, to use standard formulas and functions, and to competently create and format graphs or charts.
