S — SHOW GESTURES OF THE HEART: Prioritise the ‘invisible rituals’ of sincerity and empathy. Small, authentic acts of care build the foundational trust required for lasting influence and meaningful connection.

T — TALK TO THE RIGHT PERSON: Ensure your communication is directed solely to the source. Speak only to the individual who possesses the authority to act or the maturity to understand, thereby avoiding the indelicacy of hearsay.

E — ENGAGE ONLY WHERE INVITED: Maintain a principled distance from affairs that are not yours to manage. Respecting the boundaries of others preserves your personal energy and upholds your professional integrity.

W — WAIT FOR THE ASK: Offer your insights with brevity, then pause. By expanding on a subject only when invited, you ensure your counsel is regarded as a valued resource rather than an imposition.

A — AIM FOR THE PURPOSE: Establish your intent before speaking. If a word does not serve to inform, encourage, or provide a resolution, it is more dignified to leave it unsaid.

R — RADIATE KINDNESS AND COMPASSION: Deliver every truth with grace. Let kindness be your manner and compassion be your motive, ensuring your message seeks to heal rather than to hinder.

D — DETERMINE THE SEASON: Master the art of timing. Recognise that even the most appropriate word is ineffective If spoken in the wrong season; wait for the precise moment when others are truly ready to listen.
