I’m flying to Kazakhstan today, starting my two-week-and-a-bit solo trip to Central Asia!

And things got a bit hairy. Today Lufthansa’s cabin crew is striking, and I got moved to another flight.

And instead of the 16-hour journey tomorrow the system arranged for me I chose an alternate flight on Azerbaijan Airlines that is just nine hours.

I’ve flown to and from Baku before, but I’ve never had a layover here before. This airport is beautiful! I think they fancy themselves a baby Doha.
