YOU ARE NOT A NUMBER - SO STOP TREATING YOURSELF LIKE ONE 🙏

Numbers are measurements.
They are NOT identities.

We live in a word obsessed with numbers:
Weight.
Age.
Followers.
Income.
Grades.
Ratings.
Sizes.
Scores.

Without realizing it, many people begin to reduce themselves to those numbers.
This is 50 shades of wrong. You know why?

Because you are not a number.
You are a human being with immeasurable value.

REFRAME THE GAME

Instead of saying:
'I’m 70 kilos.'
'I’m broke.'
'I’m only a beginner.'
'I’m a million-dollar coach.'

Try saying this (and believing it) instead:

'My body is carrying me through life.'
'I am building financial stability.'
'I am learning and growing.'
'I help people create transformation.'

I'd like to end this post with 1 simple question:
If every number connected to your life disappeared overnight (no salary, age, weight, etc) - what qualities about you would still remain?

Write them down.
Your worth, my dear, goes far beyond any number.
Just a gentle reminder.

Love,
Buffi ♥

AI-mazing Presentations! ⚡ It was such a delight to coach the 12 global teams who were finalists in the recent Prosus AI Challenge held in China last week. I designed a webinar specifically for their needs on how to pitch with power and presence, and then I coached every team with personal feedback on their own pitches - delivery, structure, vocabulary, and more. 💪

My 'joy first' approach means we put the 'present' back into 'presentations'. To me, this word has 2 significant meanings:
1: That you realize that sharing your knowledge is one of the greatest gifts you can give to the world.
2: Staying present while you share your gifts means you are focused on adding value to your audience's lives, not focussed internally on how you are doing. You are too joyful and excited to beat yourself up while you are standing in the spotlight. 🤩

Would you like to speak with more impact on stage?
Here are a few tips I shared with these brilliant teams. They can help you stay strong and pitch with power!

1. You were asked to pitch (or present) for a reason. Do you find it hard to believe? This means either that they were lying (or have absolutely horrible taste) when they asked you, or that you don't realize how fabulous your knowledge is. Choose a side.

2. Are you an introvert? I get it. Remember, this is NOT about you. It's about your knowledge. Share it freely, without judgment. Put the focus on your audience - they NEED to hear this, they are EXCITED to learn from you, and are CURIOUS about what you need to share. It's not about you. It's about serving them.

3. If you are judging yourself while you are talking, you are having a not-so-delightful conversation with yourself. Not with them. You are there to serve others with your expertise, not to get stuck in the train wreck of low self-esteem. Don't make YOUR issues THEIR problem. You can beat yourself up after you are done. (However, I'd love to help you stop doing that forever. Mail me anytime!).

4. Stuck in your head while presenting? Then connect fast to your body. This minimizes the inner voice, and fast. One of the craziest and most effective hacks is to wiggle your toes. 👣 If you focus on your toes (and I mean wiggling them one by one, not an easy feet and yes, I see what I did there) you will feel more grounded and balanced. Try it and thank me later.

5. Sharing your expertise, your track record, your knowledge is NOT arrogant. It's something you worked too hard for to keep that gold to yourself. Why deny the world the gift of learning from you? Share it freely without hesitation. We will all be the better for it. 💖

Thank you to Analisa Ponce for the recommendation and Rajesh Elangovan for organizing it all. 🚀 Congrats to Mariane Bando and team ECHO on bringing home the gold, and deep appreciation and admiration to ALL the teams for working so hard and embracing the learning journey! So proud of you all! 🥇

Love,
Buffi

GOTTA LOSE MY EGG: I love the Dutch- they made Easter 2 days long. Thank you, Dutchies! 🐣In my family, we celebrate both Easter and Passover. I was raised Jewish and my husband was raised Catholic. This basically gives us the opportunity to celebrate just about any holiday that we can get our hands on. Here’s my little holiday gift to you on Easter Monday: 8 expressions that have the word ‘egg’ in it!

🐣“To egg someone on” – to incite or to encourage someone to do something, often something risky or naughty. “She was egged on by her friends to go up to that hottie and offer to buy him a drink.”

🐣“To egg someone” – to throw eggs at someone. “Damn, I got egged on April Fool’s Day!”

🐣“To have egg on one’s face” - when one is embarrassed at having done something foolish or unwise. “He really had egg on his face when he gave his presentation and burped during his intro!”

🐣“To walk on eggshells” – to be very cautious; to try not to upset or offend someone. “We really had to walk on eggshells at work when we heard that reductions were imminent in our department.”

🐣“A good egg” – someone who’s a really good and honest person. “I don’t mind if you borrow my brand new Tesla; you’re a good egg.”

🐣“You cannot make an omelet without breaking a few eggs” – this means that you have to give up or change something in order to get or create something better. “So, we have to break down that garage in order to build a new wellness center? Well, you can’t make an omelet without breaking a few eggs.”

🐣“A nest egg” – This is an amount of money that you are saving for later. “Don’t feel sorry for him for getting laid off – I hear he’s got quite a nest egg!”

🐣“A bad egg” – this should come as no surprise, but it’s someone who is badly behaved or dishonest. “OMG, you broke my new Lego castle?!? You are such a bad egg!”

Wishing you a day that’s sunny side up! 😎🪺🍳
