Introducing Skyblue: Our Throttable Methane Engine

Skyblue is a pressure-fed methane engine with deep throttling capability down to 20%.

Designed for reliability and versatility, it powers the upper stage of Blue Whale 1 and our test vehicle Blue Whale 0.4.

Featuring flight-grade valves developed in-house, Skyblue ensures precise thrust control for deep-space exploration and beyond.

지난해, 페리지가 소형 우주발사체 Blue Whale 1의 상단 엔진인 Skyblue의 추력 제어 검증을 완료했습니다.

시험에서는 Skyblue의 딥스로틀링(deep throttling) 영역인 100%에서 20%까지의 추력 조절 범위 내에서 신뢰성 있게 작동할 수 있음을 입증했습니다.

해당 검증은 페리지의 정밀한 추력 조절 기술의 신뢰도를 한층 더 끌어올리는 성과입니다. Skyblue는 우주로켓 엔진으로서의 역할 뿐만 아니라 다양한 우주 탐사 미션에 활용될 수도 있습니다.
