TEACHER SPONSORSHIP URGENTLY REQUIRED
After a lengthy meeting with Sothea Yon yesterday discussing everything from Lotus House programs to life in rural Siem Reap, we feel satisfied and very happy with our direction...
I'd just like to share with you a few things that we hit on...
Our main focus was on the teachers at Lotus House and the elderly...
THE TEACHERS...
We need to urgently employ one main English teacher to get things moving. The teachers you see in this photo are volunteer school kids from the local high school who have limited knowledge about teaching English, we are very grateful for their dedication and support but we do need a role model and experienced teacher also.
School starts back on the 15th of this month and we would really love to be able to start our English program at this time or as soon as possible....The other teachers can come as finances allow.
As Lotus House is a vocational training center we would be looking to employ a local teacher out of regular school hours...
This is a cost that we are unable to bare at the moment so we are urgently seeking a sponsor or sponsors who would like to contribute to support the wages of $70 USD per month, this will allow us have a teacher at Lotus House 5 evenings per week.
To help us get things moving at Lotus House please get in touch with us, any amount of sponsorship is very welcomed...
THE ELDERLY
Our focus for the elderly is health!!!... Their health is of the utmost importance to the community as they are really the backbone of the family. I will write a separate post on the role they play in their community shortly. I gain more insight into what life is really like in these rural areas every time I come to Cambodia...
Programs for the elderly will be implemented as soon as possible. I would like to add that the elderly are the caregivers, their focus is to see their grandkids educated...
HEALTH & EDUCATION!!
Thank you for reading this very lengthy post...
Please message me with any enquiries

The Teachers at Lotus House...
These three young people are from the local High School they come to teach English to the kids in their own time...
I love this idea as it helps on a few levels, they learn from teaching the kids and the kids see them as role models...
We still need paid teachers to go to Lotus House.
If you, or you may even know of a school that may be interested in supporting a teacher for Lotus House, please get in touch. It's only $70 per month to do this.
The rewards for everyone concerned are enormously satisfying
