As the organization grew it realized that other resources and services were needed and it has, in recent years, expanded its vision and programs accordingly. SIT has cultivated new approaches to its development efforts; improving its assessments, prioritizing the needs of local communities, targeting the poorest and most deprived areas and ensuring that beneficiaries participate in the implementation of its interventions. SIT has also developed mechanisms that ensure cheaper, faster and higher-quality implementation of its projects, and has paid special attention to their sustainability. Moreover, all SIT operations are conducted according to the highest standards of transparency and accountability. SIT strives to be at the forefront of the national youth development movement, responsive to the changing needs of Cambodian youth and their communities. For almost fifteen years our peer counselling, outreach, skills training, advocacy, personal care assistance and other programs have promoted equal access to opportunities, enhanced inclusion and participation, safeguarded livelihoods, and helped people of all ages live as active members of their communities. SIT is an active member of End Child Prostitution, Abuse and Trafficking (ECPAT) Cambodia, NGO Coalition on the Rights of the Child (NGOCRC), Child Welfare and Policy Group, HIV/AIDS Coordinating Committee (HACC) and KHANA (Khmer HIV/AIDS NGO Alliance). SIT is currently operating programs in Kandal Province and Phnom Penh.
