Va Tha, a tomato farmer from Kampong Thom, is one of model farmers and member of cooperative. With training in vegetable cultivation, production planning, and climate-smart agriculture from Heifer Cambodia and CoDec Organization, he now harvests 450kg of tomatoes monthly — and earns three times what he did before.
Small farms. Big impact.

Project PPNP Impact:
Meet Dim Lay, who started as an ordinary farmer and has now become a successful model breeder producer.

Through the intervention of the PPNP Project, funded by Heifer International Cambodia and implemented by CoDeC, investment funds were provided to the Agriculture Cooperative to offer loans to its members so they could scale up their production. The project also provides poultry technical support and training.

With this support—together with her hard work, perseverance, and dedication—Dim Lay has continuously applied proper farming techniques and never abandoned good practices. Because of this commitment, she is now earning a stable income of around $1,000 per month.

Her story shows that successful farming cannot ignore technical knowledge. Applying the right techniques is key to improving productivity and increasing income.
