Hello Cyprian. Please keep my identity confidential. . There is a supermarket in Ukunda, Diani in Kwale County called Samrat Supermarket, owned by Indian nationals. A friend who works there has asked me to help raise awareness about the conditions they are being subjected to so that the Ministry of Labour can intervene.

(1) No off days, employees work from Monday to Monday without rest.
(2) No annual leave of any kind is provided.
(3) No overtime pay, despite working extremely long hours (8 a.m. to 9 p.m.).
(4) The only time an employee is given a day off is when they are seriously ill.
(5) If someone asks for time off to attend to personal matters, they are immediately dismissed and accused of being lazy.
(6) The salary is only Ksh 10,000, with no contract or formal employment agreement.

Kindly help us amplify this matter.
