PERAK engaged at the launch of 2025 euromonitor report on illicit alcohol trade in Kenya. The report indicated an increase of 27% of illicit market since 2022 which translates to 60%in terms of volumes.
The key drivers of illicit consumption being: accessibility and affordability of the product.
The price for illicit alcohol drinks discount ranges from 10%to 80% compared to the licit product in the market.
