Encountering a mouse at a church back office recently led me to rethink the saying 'As poor as a church mouse.' That mouse certainly didn't fit the bill of destitution. Firstly, it was plump, suggesting it was well-fed, hardly a sign of poverty. Secondly, it exuded confidence. Instead of scurrying away from me, it stood its ground. I never felt threatened in its presence. Lastly, to erase any doubts, it provided proof. It scurried behind a desk, emitting faint clicking sounds out of view. Initially puzzled, I couldn't grasp its purpose until it returned. Somehow, it communicated its message without words—I couldn't articulate it, yet I understood its invitation to follow. And to my astonishment, there it was, unmistakably sitting atop a stack of currency.
