CREATE is an NGO based in Nairobi (Kenya) which advocates social change and the empowerment, inclusion and rehabilitation of communities and individuals through its core principles of Creativity, Recreation, Education, Art Therapy and Expression. The projects offered are tailored to meet individual and community needs and will be of benefit to vulnerable and marginalised groups and individuals. CR
EATE works in variety of locations offering a series of different and diverse projects targeted at tackling social issues through the use of creativity, play, leisure, education, awareness and family support. In addition to this CREATE also offers training and capacity building to other organisations and NGO’s that work in the sector. We are currently running the JITOKEZE (Kiswahili for Show Yourself) groups, that provide both kids and adults with special needs and disabilities a time of recreational and creative activities, giving them the opportunity to socialise and freely express themselves, thus building their social-communication skills, their self-esteem and their confidence in dealing with the world around them. Through taking part in these different activities the participants are encouraged to maximize their opportunities to interact, build up solid relationships and learn how to independently express their ideas. We are always in need of extra help so whether you would like to donate to the project or come and help us, Karibu Sana (Welcome in Kiswahili)!
