O Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Grace and Mercy,

I humbly ask for your prayers and protection. If it be God's holy will, obtain for me the favour I seek.

Help me to trust in God's wisdom, to remain faithful in every circumstance, and to receive with gratitude whatever He chooses to give.

Lead me always to your Son, Jesus Christ, for He alone is my hope and salvation.
Amen.πŸ’•πŸ™

20 SERIOUS SINS THAT REQUIRE CONFESSION BEFORE RECEIVING HOLY COMMUNION

A serious (mortal) sin involves grave matter, knowing it is wrong, and freely choosing it (CCC 1857).

➞ Deliberately missing Sunday or Holy Day Mass without a serious reason
➞ Receiving Holy Communion while aware of grave sin without first going to Confession
➞ Knowingly rejecting the Catholic faith or essential Church teaching
➞ Participation in occult practices, witchcraft, or spiritual practices opposed to God
➞ Sexual activity outside a valid sacramental marriage
➞ Living together as spouses without a valid Church marriage
➞ Marital unfaithfulness
➞ Use of explicit sexual material
➞ Deliberate self-stimulation with full knowledge and consent
➞ Use of birth-prevention methods while knowingly rejecting Church teaching
➞ Direct involvement in abortion
➞ Intentional killing of innocent human life, including euthanasia
➞ Serious physical, sexual, or emotional abuse toward another person
➞ Holding deep hatred or deliberately desiring grave harm toward someone
➞ Serious dishonesty, fraud, or corruption
➞ Stealing significant money or valuable property
➞ Refusing to repay serious debts when able
➞ Serious lying or slander that damages another person’s reputation
➞ Treating employees, workers, or dependents unjustly
➞ Ongoing grave pride, greed, or envy that leads to serious harm or sin

Scripture warns us:
β€œWhoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord unworthily will be guilty of profaning the Body and Blood of the Lord” (1 Cor 11:27).

If you are conscious of grave sin, go to Confession before receiving Holy Communion. Confession restores us to God’s grace, and the Eucharist strengthens the soul already living in that grace.
