Funza Group

On the 25th of January 2020, Funza had their first session with Grade 6 and 7 students from Majengo Primary school! We played some games outside with the children to get them energized and to warmly get to know each other. Some of the games were the 'name game' and 'concentration'. Then we all spoke a bit about what we love doing with our free time, our strengths, and how we would like to improve our confidence in a circle, after which each of the executives co-ordinated team-building activities in smaller groups! On the 28th and 29th of September 2019, we held the first ever Funza Summit at the Aga Khan Academy Mombasa! The Summit brought together 30 students to experience 5 sessions (Improvisation, Let's Express Ourselves, Self-Awareness, Innovation, and Roleplay) under the banner of confidence and expression. Over the coming days, we will post about each session that we carried out for the students at the Summit which we are still improving, so stay tuned!
