We are a breast cancer advocacy and support organization advancing early detection, survivorship, and access to care through community education and mobile screening initiatives across Kenya.

Today, we walked the halls of the California State Capitol carrying the stories of women who never got a second chance… and fighting for those who still can.

As someone who lost my mother to breast cancer, has a surviving aunt, and lives as a high-risk woman with dense breast tissue myself, this fight is deeply personal to me.

We met with legislators and their teams advocating for:
💗 AB 1570 — to eliminate out-of-pocket costs for diagnostic imaging after abnormal mammograms
💗 Protection of funding for the Every Woman Counts Program — which helps uninsured and underinsured women access lifesaving screenings and care

Too many women are doing the right thing by getting screened… only to be told they now need MRIs, ultrasounds, or additional diagnostic imaging they cannot afford.

And when women delay care because of cost, cancer does not wait.

Early detection only works if patients can afford the next step.

Today we spoke not just for California women, but for mothers, daughters, immigrants, survivors, caregivers, and families everywhere navigating fear, medical bills, and uncertainty.

We are grateful to the lawmakers and staff who listened with compassion and committed to supporting women’s healthcare access during this critical legislative moment.

Special thank you to G. Komen and Susan G. Komen for equipping advocates like me with the tools, education, and voice to fight for change.

From Kenya to California, the mission remains the same:
No woman should die because she could not afford to be diagnosed in time.

On the Hill of Change !

Today in Sacramento, I had the honor of meeting with Lori Wilson — breast cancer survivor, advocate, and champion for women’s health.

As someone who lost my mother to breast cancer, has a 30-year survivor aunt, and lives as a high-risk woman with dense breasts, this fight is deeply personal to me.

We stood together in support of AB 1570 to ensure women can access lifesaving diagnostic and supplemental breast imaging without financial barriers.

Early detection only works if patients can afford the next step.

At Limau Cancer Connection, we believe no woman should delay care because of cost, fear, or lack of access.

Thank you to Susan G. Komen for bringing advocates together to fight for policies that save lives.
