Guava Fruits and their health benefits.
Guava Fruit (popularly) known as maperas in Swahili is a tropical fruit that has three main varieties; i.e the red, pink and white. For me the white is most tasty. This fruit has numerous health benefits and I will only list a few.
1.Has a high nutrient profile. It is loaded with Bit.C, lycopene ,fibre, and antioxidants. These nutrients can effectively manage diabetes, promote digestive health and protect the heart.
2. The fibre helps to regulate blood sugar levels. Also prevents constipation which can be a problem in diabetes.
3. Guava lowers bad cholesterol. The potassium in the fruit helps to regulate blood pressure.
4. ,Can treat diarrhoea die to it's microbial properties.
5. Vitamin C as found in guava protects body cells from oxidative damage( biological rusting).
6. Relief from painful menstruation (dysmenorrhea ).
7. Reduces cancer risk. The vitamin C and lycopene are powerful o antioxidants that can prevent the proliferation of cancer cells. Hence powerful aid in treatment of cancers of breast and prostrate.
8. Protects the skin from wrinkles and premature aging due to its antioxidant properties.

20. Beneficial during pregnancy as it is a good source of folate.
