One of the challenges that harbours businesses from growing is that most owners do not know their customers.
One time, a business owner dealing in skincare products believed they were dealing in high end markets because some of their customers bought hampers worth between $75 - $125. To understand deeper about the customers, they proceeded to say most clients reside towards the outskirts of Nairobi city. On deeper enquiry about the usage period, revenue spread, lifetime value and customer behaviour, they began to doubt themselves.
Such is the case with most businesses. Sometimes the story in the mind is different from the actual situation, and it’s normal for entrepreneurs. Therefore, it is critical to understand your market position.
