Congratulations Dr. Joseph Ouko Olwendo!

We are proud to announce that Dr. Olwendo, a distinguished scientist from Pwani University, has been awarded the 2025 AGU Africa Award for Research Excellence in Space Science.
Dr. Olwendo, who earned his Ph.D. in Space Physics at Pwani University in 2015, has made outstanding contributions in Equatorial Ionospheric Electrodynamics and the effects of space weather on GNSS signals. His groundbreaking work has been recognized globally, with over 35 published papers and leadership in establishing the Space Weather and Ionospheric Research Laboratory (PUSWIRL) at Pwani University.
