Today, is and the 35th anniversary of the landmark UN Convention on the Rights of the Child! 🧒

But what does that have to do with ecocide? 🌍

The triple planetary crises of , and endanger the rights of children set out in the Convention - in particular, their right to life, right to health and the ability to receive an education.

As many as 196 states have signed the Convention, more than any other human rights treaty. But in order to protect the rights it has set out, it is vital that we take positive, concrete action to deter actions that lead to rights violations.

Introducing accountability for mass environmental harm, known as , is one such action. By deterring the worst harm to nature and therefore combatting ecological breakdown, it would directly alleviate children’s rights violations.

It would also help states to fulfil other vital obligations set out in the convention, including non-discrimination and the right to be heard.

Last year, a Youth for ecocide law report set out why criminalising would support the rights laid out in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Daily Record reports on the newly lodged bill in Scotland and reveals that 98% of respondents to a public consultation supported the introduction of in the country.

The bill will now need the backing of 18 MSPs in order to proceed.

Today afternoon we had a very successful meeting Training session with DE Africa Organization on the use and benefits of using GIS mapping and monitoring Tools in all the Agricultural sustainability activities Environmental Conservation activities as well as Climate Change Initiatives and programs

This training has highlights the significance benefits that can be accrued by using these Tools in our daily routine operations

Day 2 of the plastic collection exercise at Kilifi town in Collaboration with the Community members it was a very successful Event

More than 200 participants from over 20 CBOs and the county government of kilifi County
More than 2500kg of garbage plastic was collected
Many thanks to the Community members of all CBOs participating in this Event

This is done to make the Environment safe for human habitat as well as other living creatures in this planet

Today at Kilifi town we managed to collect plastics over 2500kg keeping the Environment safe is everyone's responsibility and we are very glad the event was very very successful under the collaboration of the following organizations

This year has seen progress towards the criminalisation of ecocide turbocharged by domestic and regional developments across the world, culminating in a historic proposal to the International Criminal Court - ICC for an international crime of ecocide, submitted by Pacific Island states , and .

During a meeting with the FarmCom Conservation CBO stakeholders deliberating on the Mangrove Restoration projects in kilifi County, we have increased the number of Trees planting from Mondays only to 3 days in a week
Monday Wednesday and Friday and we plant between 150 to 250 seedlings every day

Our target is to plant over 10,000 seedlings this year

The 2024 United Nations Biodiversity Conference, COP16, in Cali, Colombia, will be the first Conference of Parties since the agreement of the landmark Kunming-Montreal Framework in 2022.

The potential of to deter mass harm to nature means that it must be part of the global effort to meet that historic international commitment.

This was part of a workshop session last week on Tuesday through Thursday for Kilifi Alliance For Water Stewardship
We learnt alot in regards to water Resources, water supply, water catchment areas and challenges that face the community members on water supply to Kilifi resident
Climate being one of the challenges and how we shall work out a formula to address all those challenges

There is a lot that the Kilifi Alliance For Water Stewardship will do to end these challenges
