Franciscah first joined our Girls Program when she was in primary school. In 2015, we started supporting her education first through high school then up to her higher diploma.

She always dreamed of becoming lecturer and working with young people who are from backgrounds similar to hers. And she did it!

After graduating last year, she has started teaching at Kibra Technical and Vocation College. We are so proud of her and know this is just the beginning.

For the past week, we’ve shared the story of Dancan, a former sponsored student who generously gave to Uweza every month while working two jobs to make ends meet.

He’s now back in school, training to become an emergency medical technician. We’ve asked you to join him and Give Like Dancan so other students can stay in school too and we are grateful for the support so far.

Dancan is also now a proud father so by investing, we are reaching his whole family, and the next generation.

It’s the last day to Give Like Dancan and help students chase their dreams. 💚

Research shows that confidence in girls can start to drop as early as age 8, affecting so many areas of their lives. One of the goals of our Golden Girls Program is to keep girls’ confidence and self-esteem as high as possible.

Last weekend, the girls had a fun day of games, dance routines, and a catwalk, encouraging them to step outside their comfort zones, be seen and cheered on by others, and celebrate themselves for exactly who they are.
