Launch of Military Veterans Embu County Chapter.

To mark the operationalization of the Military Veterans Act, 2022, the Military Veterans Embu County Chapter (MVECC) was launched on Friday 13th March 2026 at Moi Stadium Embu, by H.E Cecily Mbarire, Governor Embu County.

ECPDA Chairman was officially invited by MVECC Chairman Col Rtd Elias Nguu to represent ECPDA in the event. Col Rtd Elias Nguu is also a member of ECPDA and the two associations are exploring ways of collaboration in community service, especially around schools mentorship programs.

On behalf of ECPDA I wish to congratulate our military veterans for the successful launch and most sincerely thank them through their Chairman for the many years they dedicated their lives to serving our nation by defending us within our borders and beyond.

Thank you and God bless you all.

*Courtesy Call - County Director of Education, Embu*

Good afternoon colleagues.

Today we had the honour of paying a courtesy call to the new *Embu County Director of Education, Dr Peter Kirika*, who was posted to Embu County towards the end of last year.

The support of the CDE’s office is very crucial in our education related programs and successive holders of the office have been very supportive to ECPDA.

The visit accorded us the opportunity to brief Dr.Kirika on who ECPDA is and what we do even as we look forward to continued collaboration with the office.

He was very impressed with the role that you members are playing to positively impact the community, especially on education matters. He pledged to continue collaborating with us as our efforts are complementary to each other.

Dr.Kirika urged ECPDA members to continue using their good standing in the society to support learning institutions and help curb the rising cases of learners who register for exams and disappear from school for various reasons like getting engaged in boda boda and mùgùka businesses.

We also gifted Dr.Kirika with a copy of Embu Book of Records which will help him to have a better view of Embu County and it’s people.

Thank you to our Vice Chair Rita Wahome, Runyenjes Rep Dr Jeremiah Ireri and our Liaison Officer Dorothy Murugi for creating time early in the morning for the meeting.

Below are some photos of the team in Daktari’s office.
