Today, Manyatta MP Hon. John Gitonga Mukunji together with Ishiara residents marched to Ishiara Police Station to demand answers on the progress of investigations into the killing of two young youths who were shot during demonstrations over the poor state of Ishiara Level 4 Hospital.

This is the kind of leadership Kenyans deserve, a leader who does not hide in silence when citizens are oppressed. Hon. Mukunji has consistently proven that he is a true servant of the people, always ready to stand with wananchi and boldly condemn any evil act committed by the government against innocent citizens.

It is unfortunate and shameful that while residents cry for justice and better services, the Embu County Government remains silent, and the County Assembly has completely failed in its oversight role. Instead of protecting the people, many MCAs have turned into praise singers after being “bought” by the governor, leaving wananchi to suffer with collapsing health services and unchecked impunity.

Justice must be served. The lives lost in Ishiara matter. Leadership must be accountable.

Kudos Hon. Mukunji for standing firm with the people.
