HISTORIC MILESTONE FOR UASIN GISHU – OUR GENDER & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT POLICY IS READY! 🎉

Today, we celebrate a powerful achievement for Uasin Gishu – the Gender & Community Development Policy has been finalized and handed over for Cabinet approval!

This is more than just a policy – it’s our shared vision for a county where everyone can thrive.

Our Objective:
To create a fair, inclusive, and sustainable Uasin Gishu where women, men, youth, and marginalized groups have equal opportunities to live, work, and lead.

This journey was built by the people – from the voices of rural women to youth advocates and faith leaders. Reprodrive CBO, Kerio Rights Organisation, Northrift Theatre Ambassadors (NORTA), Rural Women Peace Link, NCCK, uasin gishu Civil society Network and many others made sure no voice was left behind.

Now, we call on our leaders to approve and adopt this policy – so that our dream of an inclusive, just, and prosperous Uasin Gishu becomes reality.

This is OUR moment. This is OUR policy. This is OUR future.

In Gender Justice, collaboration is our strength.
For months, we’ve been working on the Uasin Gishu Gender and Development Policy 2025 — a powerful tool to address gender injustices, promote inclusive development, and create equity in opportunities for all.

This week marks a milestone: we are at the tail end of this process, engaging our new consultant to harmonise the final draft.

We celebrate the commitment of our partners in the committee — UasinGishu Civil Society Network North RIFT Theatre Ambassadors , , representative from the State Department for Gender , and the Uasin Gishu County. Government — whose dedication has made this journey possible.

Together, we are shaping a future where equity is the standard, not the exception. 💪🏾✨
