The path is ready.
The forest is waiting.
Yesterday, we went to get a glimpse of what Saturday will feel like not just a walk, but a deeper connection with nature and with each other.
As we begin to grow the Movement, we are currently focusing on building a strong community of forest whisperers within Elgeyo Marakwet and nearby counties. This allows us to root the movement deeply in place, relationships, and shared experience.
If you are within this region and feel called to reconnect with nature you are warmly invited to join us.

Building Back Better is not a one-time event; it is a continuous, community-led journey.
In Marakwet, we are walking this journey together with communities, elders, and partners. Listening, learning, and uncovering the root causes of the landslide that took away lives November last year in Chesongoch, so that the solutions we build are truly sustainable.
This video captures the beginning of that process, where local voices are leading the conversation on resilience, land use, and the future of our communities.
When communities lead, solutions last.
Join us as we continue to engage, learn, and act together.

Resilience is not built in boardrooms. It is built in communities.
In the steep slopes of Elgeyo Marakwet, where landslides and climate shocks threaten lives and livelihoods, communities are not waiting for solutions — they are leading them. From restoring fragile landscapes to building climate-resilient livelihoods, their stories show what true adaptation looks like.
This is more than a story. It is evidence that when communities lead, change is real, lasting, and transformative.
Watch, listen, and witness the power of locally led resilience.

The signs are clear, what we are witnessing is not isolated.
The effects of climate change are becoming more real than ever,
intensifying risks and exposing the fragility of how we live with our land.
This is why these conversations matter now

Together with the Marakwet council of elders, we successfully held our community-led post-disaster analysis forum in Chesoi, Marakwet, bringing together elders, community members, government officials, and partners to reflect on the recent landslides and begin a shared journey toward sustainable solutions
At Jenga Future Initiative, we believe that lasting solutions come from within the community. By placing local voices, knowledge, and leadership at the center of disaster response and recovery, we are laying the foundation for resilience that is owned, driven, and sustained by the people themselves.
This is just the beginning. We look forward to continued engagements with communities across the affected areas as we work together to better understand the root causes and co-create practical, long-term solutions.
We invite you to join us in this journey toward building safer, stronger, and more resilient communities.
