Our Adult Bible Study Group – Cohort 1 joyfully received their Certificates of Completion after successfully completing the Bible Study on Observation, Interpretation, and Application (OIA).
This impactful program, started in 2007 by the Late Pastor Roy Stover, continues to grow and bear much fruit in our church. Through it, many other ministries have been birthed, including Youth Bible Study, Basketball Bible Study, Bible Quiz, Moms in Prayer Bible Study, Men’s Bible Study, and many more.

BIOGRAPHY
Pastor Roy Stover, DD (1940–2025)
Missionary | Educator | Pastor | Founder
Born: November 15, 1940 — Died: July 6, 2025
Memorial Service: July 13, 2025
Roy Stover was born in Detroit, Michigan, the youngest of three siblings. Raised in a Christian household, he gave his life to Christ at age 11. His early love for learning and people led him to pursue a lifelong mission of faith-based education and community transformation.
He studied at Southeastern College, Eastern Michigan University, and Azusa Pacific University, eventually earning a Doctorate of Divinity from Trinity College and Theological Seminary.
After teaching in Michigan, Roy moved to Kenya in 1969 to join Rift Valley Academy. There, he taught Bible, Science, and Wood Shop, and oversaw major campus construction. He met and married Helen Barnett in 1970, and together they served as surrogate parents to many students.
In 1990, Roy and Helen moved to Eldama Ravine, where Roy became pastor of AIC Eldama Ravine Town Church. Under his guidance, the congregation grew significantly, and the church developed a permanent sanctuary and Sunday school facilities.
His commitment to education and care for vulnerable children led him to found the Elma Barnett Children’s Center and later the Elma Kamonong’ High School, institutions that stand today as a tribute to his compassion and vision.
Pastor Roy’s ministry extended beyond the pulpit. He mentored leaders, built communities, and lived a life that reflected the heart of Christ. His legacy lives on in the thousands of lives he touched across Kenya and beyond.
“To God be the glory for a life faithfully lived.”
