On Monday 1st, May 2022, The Rastafari Indigenous Village received the installation of our second sign. The first sign was directional - pointing the way to an attraction of national importance. This sign, however, is so much more important as it donates the Rastafari Indigenous Village as a heritage site. It acknowledges our commitment to sharing education, culture, and entertainment and to fulfilling HIM Haile Selassie's mandate "to organize and centralize" and to educate the future generations in order to sustain and strengthen our collective identities towards a coexistence of humanity. We are so proud and are appreciative to the Ministry of Tourism and agencies Jamaica Tourist Board and the Tourism Product Development Company, for recognizing all our hard work and commitment to get this project up and running from literally an idea to hosting guests from all over the world. We always have to give a big shout out to the Jamaica Social Investment Fund who, have been with us almost since inception and who moved with us from intangible to tangible: the Travel Foundation for their support with training, all the drivers and tour operators who find us - even through the most difficult access points. We also must thank the Nelson family, whose generosity, open support and willingness to believe in a vision has brought us thus far and continues to be the major gust of wind beneath our wings. We appreciate most of all the seekers' who find us under the most adverse conditions, crossing raging rivers, sliding through muddy paths and traversing jungly forests and undergrowth to have the most transformative conversations. Forgive me if I have forgotten anyone, the list is truly long and we are grateful.
