Procrastination, the silent killer of dreams.
A big misconception about procrastination is that it stems from being lazy when in fact it’s actually an internal defensive mechanism set up to protect you from the preceived harm of the unknown.
It’s one of the ways our subconscious tries to keep us safe and you shouldn’t feel bad or get down on yourself if you procrastinate.
Instead, spend some time thinking or journaling about what it is you want to do or achieve and identify what some of your blocks may be.
Here are some prompts that may help with this process.
🌟 Vision Building Prompts 🌟
• What brings me joy?
• If I had all the money and time I needed at my disposal what would I be being?
• If I went all in on my dream what is the best case scenario? What would my life look like?
• How does the version of me who has everything she ever wanted view herself? How does she dress, how does she speak to people, how does she carry herself? What does a typical day look like for her.
🌟 Identify + Breakthrough Blocks Prompts 🌟
• Am I carrying around a belief that I am not enough or not worthy of great things?
• Is there a inherited belief around money or success that is limiting me?
• Am I discouraged by my environment or background?
• What is the biggest thing that I believe is hindering me from taking the next steps?
• Is the thing that is hindering me really what I say/think it is or is it something else that I can’t see?
• If I do the thing I want to do and it doesn’t work out what will happen, absolute worse case scenario?
• What will it cost me if I go after my dreams?
• What will of cost me if I don’t go after my dream?
In my experience journaling works the best to really gain insight into one’s self, but it you’re not ready for that yet just sit and quietly think on these prompts.
At some point though you must get these thoughts out. Either through writing them down, by creating a voice note or talking to someone you trust. (Even if that someone is you.)
I hope this helps you. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have, ask them below or DM me.
