Over the last few months, I’ve been joining students from Plat Douet School in Jersey as they prepared for their Year 6 pie competition 🥧

Students have been learning how to cook nutritious food from scratch, preparing it themselves and using the best local produce our island has to offer 🥒 🫑 🥔

From lasagna pie, chicken katsu pie, to your classic steak pie - these students thought of it all! But it was Robyn and Molly’s creamy chicken and bacon pie which wowed the judges, crowning them the winners 🏆

Their winning PD Pie even made it onto the menu of a handful of Randalls Jersey food outlets 🍴

Lovely to get to know the students from my old primary school, and to see how excited they were by the project, made the task all the easier!
