It's suddenly very hot this week so we start work earlier each morning, escape the heat at lunchtime, and continue doing whatever we're doing in the late afternoon early evening. We're picking and distilling, attending to the vegetable garden, and not spending much time behind the computer.

The cornflower hydrolites are fabulous so far, though we're still experimenting with our process, with the amount of water we're using. When the last of the cornflower is done we have rosemary, lavender, and magnolia ready to distill, and a bed of pretty little yellow helichrysum flowers to plant.

The beautiful little shaded table corner at the farm, an ancient metal table and warped wooden chairs under a canopy of twisting vines and branches. It's a lovely little space, with shafts of afternoon sunlight glittering through the leaves of the large conifer tree that looms above it.

We've installed the last of the summer's irrigation system in the vegetable garden at home, picked and distilled another row of cornflower at the farm, and sent off a little order of our extra virgin biological olive oil to Genova, so that's fun! There's also much work to do at the computer, so we're often dividing our time.
