🥺 Am I good enough?

We all ask this, as students and now. Every time we face our fears as artists, we find a positive answer. Growing means trying, failing, learning. Be kind to yourself.

🦄 Are you waiting for the magic unicorn?

Perfect client, perfect brief, perfect budget. We waited for one. It never came. Since then we pitch our best ideas anyway. Not unicorns: that's hard work and the will to make things.

🐼 Is it cool to be a boss?

Yes, but sometimes nope. It takes you away from production. Which leads to the next one:

🤓 Should I learn something new?

When you feel stuck, learning something new is a turning point. For Ricky that meant Cavalry, Figma for illustration and AI as a creative tool, not a shortcut.

👀 Do your characters have a name?

If your work is not clicking, maybe you're not having fun. Give your characters names, build their stories, even when the client isn't paying for it. Those "unnecessary" details are what makes a project great.

😶‍🌫️ Should we change?

Always. It's scary but good. We are a team of limited artists who do everything together, pushing each other out of their comfort zones.

🫪 Do we need a new reel?

We do. But that's a spoiler for another day.

We went to Nantes to send good vibes to fellow designers, motion designers, and illustrators—the ones who used to doodle on high school notebooks wondering, "Can I actually make a living from this?". 💗
