La tecnologia StormFilter è un dispositivo per il trattamento di filtrazione delle acque meteoriche riconosciuto dall'americana EPA* (“Environmental Protection Agency”), dal Magistrato alle Acque di Venezia** e dal Dipartimento Territorio e Ambiente della Regione Marche*** come Best Management Technology.
I sistemi di trattamento tradizionali di dissabbiatura/disoleatura, basati sulla sedimentazione delle particelle solide sospese, non sono efficaci nel rimuovere il carico inquinante presente nelle acque meteoriche di dilavamento: numerosi studi evidenziano infatti come mediamente solo il 30% dei solidi totali è sedimentabile, mentre il 60% dei solidi, di dimensione inferiore, rimane in sospensione nel liquido anche dopo tale processo.
I filtri StormFilter trattano le acque tramite un processo di assorbimento dei contaminanti, rimuovendo gran parte dei solidi contenuti nelle acque. Il trattamento avviene completamente a gravità, senza quindi necessità di impianti elettromeccanici di sollevamento e relative spese, e in continuo, senza volumi di stoccaggio e a volumi ridotti rispetto ad un impianto tradizionale.

StormFilter technology is a device for the filtration treatment of stormwater, acknowledged by EPA* (“Environmental Protection Agency”), the Water Magistrate of Venice** and the Environmental Department of Marche Region*** as one of the “Best Management Technologies”.
Traditional sand remover/deoiler systems, based on the sedimentation of suspended solid particles in water, are not efficacious in the removal of the contaminant load from stormwater: many studies, in fact, report that only 30% of the solids in water are settleable, meanwhile 60% of the solids, the fine particulate fraction, remain in suspension even after the sedimentation process.
StormFilter cleanse stormwater through adsorption of contaminants, removing most of the solids from water. The process is fully gravitational, without any need of electromechanical device and related expenses, and continuous, with no need of storage volumes and thus using smaller plants compared to traditional systems.
