Trento RISE is a core partner of the Italian portion of the EIT ICT Labs network of the European Institute for Innovation and Technology (EIT), the main instrument envisioned by the European Commission to promote a development policy based on knowledge economy involving academic and business operations of the highest levels.
Trento is a co-location center for the Italian consortium of EIT ICT Labs Italy and is the only center in Southern Europe for the ICT Knowledge and Innovation Community of EIT. Trento RISE operates in total synergy with EIT ICT Labs Italy, which also uses the Trentino Region as a lab from a national perspective. Trento RISE is backed by industrial entities of the highest level, such as Telecom and Engineering, the Fiat Research Center and STMicroelectronics, and academic entities such as the Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna, the National Council for Research (CNR), the Polytechnic of Milan, the Polytechnic of Turin, and the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna of Pisa.
