It was the evening of July 8 2014, on the terrace of the Old City. A hidden spot, full of curious and inviting people from all over the world, climbing like the ivy in the heart of the eternal city. A sunset that lasts long enough to have time to fall in love a few times, plan a revolution, and drink several bottles of wine. ce of which would take control of its creators. Before they could even understand it themselves, that night three people found themselves united in one powerful and wonderful creature, hungry for rhythm, sweat, and darkness: LAST BEFORE DINNER. Since that night in July, our superheroes have never stopped, even though they publicly promised everyone to play “the last song before dinner”. Between parties, impromptu evenings, house shows and concerts, their following increased to the point of convincing them to bring to light their first original work, thanks to the newly formed OldCityProductions (Andrea de Blasi / Ninni Aureli / Mary Montalto). At their concerts gathers and dances a group as diverse as the mix of songs performed, while the sound is solid, compact, unmistakable, enhanced by an expressive and extraordinary voice. It is difficult to define Last Before Dinner. Their most obvious characteristics are energy and the capacity to involve the audience to experience a wave of collective joy. For their first original record coming out in 2016, Last Before Dinner have kept a close secret. All we know is that it will have songs in Italian, English, and even Portuguese. So now we just await the news… in the meantime, the “select few” allowed at the LBD rehearsals (strictly through word of mouth) witness and support the growth of the project, express their feelings and opinions, offer ideas and collaborations, as they have done since the birth of the band, in a new but ancient idea of artistic production, based on critical participation and listening to public opinion when already in rehearsals, or even during songwriting itself.

Era la sera dell’8 Luglio del 2014, sulla terrazza della Città Vecchia, un luogo impervio, popolato di gente da mezzo mondo curiosa e accogliente, e arrampicato come la sua edera nel cuore della città eterna. Uno di quei tramonti che durano abbastanza a lungo da avere il tempo di innamorarsi un paio di volte, pianificare una rivoluzione e farsi due litri di vino. Quella sera, proprio nel momento in cui il sole stava baciando la luna, nacque qualcosa la cui essenza avrebbe preso il controllo sui suoi stessi creatori. Prima ancora di capirlo, quella notte, tre persone si trovarono unite in un'unica possente e meravigliosa creatura, avida di ritmo, sudore e oscurità: LAST BEFORE DINNER. Da quella sera di Luglio prima in tre e poi in cinque, i nostri super-eroi non si sono mai fermati, nonostante avessero promesso pubblicamente a mezzo mondo di suonare “the last song before dinner”. Tra feste, serate estemporanee, house shows e concerti, il loro seguito è aumentato al punto di convincerli a progettare il primo lavoro originale che sta per ve**re alla luce anche grazie alla neonata OldCityProductions (Andrea de Blasi/Ninni Aureli/Mary Montalto). Ai loro concerti accorre e balla il pubblico più disparato, così come estremamente varia è la scelta dei brani eseguiti mentre è solido, compatto e inconfondibile il suono, impreziosito da una voce espressiva e straordinaria. Difficile dare dei Last Before Dinner una definizione, l'energia e la capacità di coinvolgere il pubblico nell'onda di un'esperienza di gioia collettiva sono le loro caratteristiche più evidenti. Sul primo disco originale in uscita nel 2016, i Last Before Dinner tengono uno strettissimo riserbo, sappiamo solo che presenterà brani in italiano, inglese e addirittura portoghese. Perciò non ci resta che aspettare gli eventi... nel frattempo gli “eletti” ammessi alle prove dei LBD (rigorosamente attraverso il passaparola), assistono e sostengono la crescita del progetto, manifestano le loro impressioni, esprimono pareri, propongono idee e collaborazioni, come avviene del resto fin dalla nascita della band, in un'idea nuova ma antica di produzione artistica fondata sulla partecipazione critica e sull'ascolto delle opinioni del pubblico già nella fase di prova e addirittura durante la composizione stessa dei brani.
