🎉It’s a wrap! The Phase 3 Train-the-Trainer Workshop has successfully concluded.
Throughout the workshop, plant health officers strengthened their skills in pest surveillance, detection and data collection using advanced digital tools.
Next: They will return to their countries and train more phytosanitary inspectors and other national stakeholders to use the APP tools for better pest surveillance, detection, reporting and prevention.
A heartfelt thank you to all the facilitators, organizers, and funding partners whose support made this training possible. Special thanks to the የኢትዮጵያ ግብርና ባለስልጣን Ethiopian Agricultural Authority for graciously hosting the workshop.
Together, we are building stronger plant health systems to safeguard agriculture, livelihoods, and food security across Africa.

🔹 Prevention is better than cure! Early detection of pets reduces the impact on economies, farmers' incomes, the environment and food security.
🔹Partnership is essential to sustain and scale programmes like APP. Governments, regional organizations, development partners, technical institutions, and the private sector all have a role to play. 🤝
🔹Investing in plant health is investing in economic growth. Effective pest surveillance and response systems protect agricultural investments, farmers' livelihoods, and market opportunities.
🔹Safe trade depends on trust and strong phytosanitary systems. Reliable pest monitoring and data help countries meet international standards, facilitate trade, and expand market access.
🔹Through hashtag , Africa is helping to shape a stronger model for phytosanitary capacity development in other regions globally, too.
