Webinar: Understanding the Philippine Heraldic Code in the Diaspora

In commemoration of the 128th Anniversary of Philippine Independence and the 165th birth anniversary of our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, the Philippine Consulate General in Milan invites the Filipino community—especially our second-generation Filipino-Italian youth—to a special online lecture.

Conducted by the Heraldry Section of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, the webinar will touch on the following topics:

- The history of the flag and the often-overlooked role of the women who wove the first flag, including Dr. Jose Rizal's own niece, Delfina Herbosa de Natividad;
- Protocol across borders - Practical and easy guidelines on flag etiquette overseas, including how to properly position the Philippine flag alongside Italian or EU flags;
- How to respectfully retire a worn-out flag
