Exciting news for sustainable businesses! 🌍🌱 The European Union is taking a significant step towards combating climate change with a new legislation. A recent article on Euractiv reveals that EU companies will soon be required to provide evidence of the carbon neutrality of their food products.

This landmark law aims to create greater transparency and accountability within the food industry, urging businesses to prioritize environmentally friendly practices. By obligating companies to demonstrate their products' carbon neutrality, the EU is fostering a culture of sustainability and empowering consumers to make informed choices.

The move towards carbon neutrality aligns with global efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and mitigate the impacts of climate change. It not only benefits the environment but also promotes responsible production and consumption, which are vital for a sustainable future.

For companies already operating with sustainability in mind, this legislation serves as validation and recognition for their efforts. It reinforces their commitment to combatting climate change and allows them to showcase their eco-friendly practices to a broader audience.

At the same time, this legislation presents an opportunity for businesses to assess their carbon footprint and explore innovative solutions to minimize it. Adopting sustainable practices and investing in renewable energy sources will not only help them comply with the new law but also drive positive change within their respective industries.

We are pleased to invite you to the "B Corps, sustainable business models, and firm strategies for meeting the net-zero goals" symposium at the EURAM (EUROPEAN ACADEMY OF MANAGEMENT) 2023 conference at Trinity College Dublin Global, composed entirely of members of the Tracy project.

The path toward decarbonization is complex, and not only involves companies, but is also influenced by the national, social, and political context. This Symposium will discuss the role and business model of B Corps and other forms of sustainability-driven organizations in the achievement of net-zero goals. While there is a growing debate concerning both carbon neutrality and companies' environmental impact, those two topics have been approached quite independently. Hence, the Symposium is intended to discuss the advantages of blending these two research streams, disentangling the factors (e.g., institutional, industry, and firms) leading firms to meet the net-zero goal.

We will have as symposium panelists:
Daniel Alonso Martínez, Universidad de León, Spain
Silvia Blasi, Università degli Studi di Verona, Italy
Eleonora Di Maria, DSEA - Dipartimento di Scienze Economiche e Aziendali Unipd, Italy
Silvia Rita Sedita, DSEA - Dipartimento di Scienze Economiche e Aziendali Unipd, Italy

We look forward to welcoming you!
