Wendy Bevan’s world is nothing short of underground royalty, conjuring a darkly lit, ethereal, alternative universe that captures a strange symmetry in temporality, dream-states, and decay. Developing a unique cinematic style of her own guided by her free spirit & personality as a renaissance artist working between genres to create a most eclectic of worlds in song writing, composition, visuals &
performance. Her father being an iconic Actor in the cult genre of Sci-Fi and Horror world, she always had a fascination in the otherworldly, dreams and fantasy. After attending Art School in London where she studied photography; Bevan began to develop a vision for a world of her own creation that became the stage for her soundtracks. During this time she continued to play the violin and sing in numerous music projects in London and went on to start her wildly theatrical band Temper Temper. In 2016 Wendy’s own take on Electronic Rock saw her compared to Siouxsie Sioux meets PJ Harvey. Her album ‘Rose and Thorn’ released September 2016 bought together dark pulsing electronic synths, minimalist post punk bass lines & her collaboration with the prestigious Balanescu Quartet, of live string arrangements & performances on several of her songs. The album features the song ‘Love From the Moon’ which became Number One upon its release in the European Alternative charts in 2016. In 2018 her EP ‘Falling’ featured on XLR8R magazine, USA was also awarded with number one download’s at the end of 2018. Throughout 2020 Wendy collaborated with Duran Duran's Nick Rhodes on ASTRONOMIA a series of 4 instrumental, contemporary classical, soundtrack albums, with a total of 52 tracks. Composing with her electric violin, pedals, synths and vocals, the magical project launched in March 2021 and each of the four albums was released on the Solstices and Equinox's throughout the year. The duo’s creative collision of analogue synthesizers, violins, voices and orchestral arrangements was fueled by a shared attraction to the Universe and ancient mythology, producing a truly unique collection of records. Each individual piece is a sonic painting, a tapestry of rich textures and haunting melodies forming soundscapes. Her love for the violin started when she first picked up the instrument at the age of seven. She found it resonated closely with the voice and was intrinsically linked to the fluidity of human emotions, enabling her to express ineffable ideas through her compositions, exploring spaces between the light and dark. In 2022 she was invited by NYC based, music supervisor Randall Poster to be part of the Bird Song project. Her track The Calling is featured alongside other artists contributions including Nick Cave, John Cale, Laurie Anderson, Karen O and numerous others. Wendy's second solo studio album, produced by Nick Rhodes will be released in 2023.
