La presentazione della nuova stagione del Teatro Bellini di Napoli si terrà il 4 giugno (con un grande happening a partire dalle 19:30). La serata sarà una festa a ingresso libero tra performance, musica dal vivo e arti visive. L'Accademia di Belle Arti è presente con un video, una installazione e un progetto multimediale, a cura di Rino Squillante e Alessandro Papa.
Realizzazione a cura di studentesse e studenti del biennio di scenografia e studentesse e studenti dei bienni di Pittura, Decorazione e Design per la comunicazione iscritti ai programmi di doppio titolo della Fujian Normal University e TAFA di Tianjin.
Non ci sono anteprime perché "da vicino è un'altra storia".

For the 2026 edition of the EDI global forum, a collaboration between Accademia di Belle Arti di Napoli and ACC Asia Culture Center (Republic Of Korea), produced a workshop session for the forum's accredited international guests focused on portraiture.
The workshop was held in the Lea Vergine space of the GAN, Galleria dell'Accademia.
Coordinated by Rino Squillante and Sunghee Cho with the collaboration of Soraya Checola and Sara Pinto.
A RELATIONAL PORTRAIT
This workshop originates from a reflection on the way we observe the world today. Digital technology
has accustomed us to experiencing images through multiple interpretations and mediations, making
the direct relationship between our gaze and reality more complex. In this context, it becomes
important to rediscover a conscious way of looking—one that is able to observe, understand, and
bear witness.
Art, and portraiture in particular, has always been a privileged tool for exploring the relationship
between the observer and the subject. To portray someone means not only to look carefully at them
and capture their features, but also to enter into a relationship with their presence. The artist’s gaze
does not simply record what it sees; through the creative process it transforms observation into a
testimony embodied in the artwork.
The proposed activity is based on portrait-making carried out in a one-to-one relationship. This
dimension creates a space for mutual observation and direct interaction, outside the collective
experience. The face-to-face encounter becomes an opportunity to develop attention, empathy, and
the ability to recognize oneself in the other.
Through the process of portraying and being portrayed, participants are invited to activate a
conscious gaze: observing in order to tell a story, and telling a story while being observed. In this way,
the portrait becomes not only an artistic exercise but also a relational experience, where the image
emerges from the encounter between two people who look at each other and recognize one another.
