Tensive is pleased to announce new data confirming the potential of its REGENERA™ / SOFTAG™ candidate device to transform post-cancer breast reconstruction.

Here are the highlights we found:

• Strong safety profile and growing performance benefits of the device in clinical data from two ongoing trials in patients undergoing lumpectomy.
• High levels of patient and surgeon satisfaction in an interim analysis in our pivotal trial, which met primary safety and secondary performance objectives.
• The device was supportive in identifying the tumor bed, enabling the guiding of radiotherapy, according to an interim analysis of a separate cohort.
• Durable satisfaction with the device following lumpectomy reconstruction in three-year follow-up results in our first-in-human study.

Of the 2.1 million lumpectomies performed worldwide each year, 1.6 million are not reconstructed, because of a lack of viable options. Tensive is developing its REGENERA™ / SOFTAG™ candidate device to fill that substantial unmet medical need.

REGENERA™ / SOFTAG™ is gradually absorbed by the body, enabling the patient’s own healthy tissue to regrow. The result is restoration composed of natural tissue that preserves the original shape and feel of the patient’s breast shape and feel.

In addition, the implant is clearly differentiated from surrounding tissue on diagnostic imaging, supporting more targeted delivery of radiotherapy.
