The “rich person cap” is a fashion trend that emerged in the early 2010s, characterized by the use of trucker caps featuring embroidered patches depicting animals, objects, or symbolic motifs. Although trucker caps had long been associated with workwear and casual street style, this specific sub-trend gained popularity among affluent individuals, who embraced the accessory as a form of understated luxury.
Often paired with high-end casual outfits, the rich person cap became a way to signal wealth through irony. Popular patch subjects included wolves, tigers, eagles, exotic fish, vintage vehicles, and other “totemic” symbols chosen for their perceived meaning or personal significance.
